The blacksmith trade in the Banshu region in the Hyogo prefecture began with forging Katana swords around 400 years ago when Hideyoshi Toyotomi attacked Miki castle. He commissioned many blacksmiths in the Banshu region to produce his swords, and Banshu Hamono is one of the blacksmiths still living on.
A humble daily tool for those who appreciate it, that will only get better with age. Perfect for camping, cooking, crafting, foraging, or opening boxes. The blade is forged from Japanese "ao-hagane" blue steel & folds into a solid brass sheath. The traditional higonokami utility knife is known for its sharpness, portability, durability, & ability to be re-sharpened for decades. The knife comes in a box wrapped in a piece of recycled Japanese fabric; each piece of fabric is different.
As these knives are handmade, each one is unique and may carry slight differences.
