These hand-painted porcelain coasters are faithful reproductions of originals found in 19th century French bar life. Often referred to as tip trays, these saucers served a dual purpose as both a coaster and indication of the price of absinthe being served.
We’ve strewn them around our home as coasters, a jewelry tray, candle holder, and placed underneath a pepper mill to catch errant grinds.
