This 19th century handwoven phulkari from East Punjab - traditionally used by Indian and Pakistani brides as a dowry blanket to cover their heads and bodies during a traditional marriage ceremony - is embroidered with silk darn stitches creating vibrant, alternating patterns.
Very good antique condition, some loose stitches, edge frays.
