Ideal for both children and adults, this generously sized blanket brings moments of indulgence and comfort to any space. Use a dohar atop a bed as a lightweight coverlet, in place of a traditional top sheet, or folded in a family room as the perfect companion for an afternoon nap.
In Hindi, doharana means “repeating,” and dohar implies “layered.” Made of three sheets of airy mulmul cotton muslin—once exclusive to Indian royalty—dohars are traditional summer blankets that grow softer with every wash.
Each dohar is crafted using centuries-old block printing techniques. Artisans carve intricate patterns into wooden blocks, dip them in natural, azo-free dyes, and press them into the fabric 500 to 3,000 times in a slow, rhythmic process. Produced in limited quantities, every dohar bears the mark of its maker. Each blanket is one-of-a-kind, with subtle variations even among the same print.
