Setting a Spring Table with Loeffler Randall

Setting a Spring Table with Loeffler Randall

This spring, the walls of our Round Top shop bore witness to one of those career pinch-me moments as we hosted New York-based Loeffler Randall for a Porch Pop-Up celebrating their recently released clothing capsule and seasonal accessories, and what a thrill it was to shop the racks of stunning pieces in the Texas sunshine.

On her final night in town, Jessie and I gathered our teams with creatives from near and far for a celebratory dinner. We toasted friendships old and new against the unspoiled terrain of rolling hills and under a sky dotted with stars. This evening under the stars was a collaborative labor of love and one that we will remember for years to come.

Fieldnotes: CB Chats with Jessie Randall

I am a longtime fan of New York-based luxe meets laid-back footwear and accessories brand Loeffler Randall. My most loved, most broken-in shoes are fifteen year old Loeffler Randall brown snakeskin boots — a pair I adore so much that I sourced a back-up pair on a resale site many years later!

Since 2004 Jessie Randall, who co-founded the company with husband and business partner Brian, has expanded the collection from shoes to handbags to clothing and built Loeffler Randall into an internationally distributed brand sold in over 300 retailers worldwide. Jessie made a recent jaunt to Round Top and was so taken with our favorite Texas town that she started scheming another visit — this time with covetable LR goods in tow!

Houston, We're on the Move!

Houston, We're on the Move!
In just a few days (August 11th!), we’ll throw open the doors to our new Houston shop, just down the street from our previous home on Ferndale. Beyond providing operational and spatial solutions for our growing company, the new space is also steeped in story, making it decidedly well suited to the spirit of our brand. Situated on the bustling corner of Ferndale and West Alabama, the 3,200 square foot craftsman-style bungalow boasts ample parking, an inviting porch, plenty of retail space (the most precious spot just for our children’s collection!) — as well as room for our offices, online shipping operations, and inventory.

As we’re scurrying around gussying things up for you, it just feels right to take a look back, retrace steps, and introduce you to our stunning new digs!

Fieldnotes: CB Chats with Nicole Gibbons
There's truth to the old adage: a fresh coat of paint does wonders to transform a room. But paint shopping can be overwhelming and time consuming. You know the drill: choose a paint brand and grade, select the right hue, retrieve an array of swatches, test out samples, observe said samples in various lights and times of day, make a sound decision, then get the paint on the wall evenly.

Entrepreneur and designer Nicole Gibbons is on a mission to simplify the paint shopping process. Her eco-friendly, direct-to-consumer paint company, Clare, launched in 2018 and is disrupting the traditional paint selling model. Simply put, shopping for paint on Clare's website is a delight and her carefully curated collection of colors will no doubt save you lots of fretting. Continue reading

Storied Details: The Dohar Blanket

Storied Details: The Dohar Blanket
It all started with me on the back of a moped whizzing around the outskirts of Jaipur. This was 2010, my first trip to India, and I hadn’t set out to bring home what would later become my signature, best-selling textile, the dohar blanket. But that’s what happened, and it’s all thanks to an Indian factory owner and my own admittedly risky sense of adventure. Continue reading

Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays
I'm doing my best to lean into the trimmed-back version of the holiday season. Without the usual accoutrement of holiday happy hours, glittering parties, and festive school performances, our family schedule feels focused on that which is essential: time at home with one another. Now more than ever, I'm clinging to the traditions that bring me joy each year, and I'm sharing some of them with you (along with a few other tidbits!). Bright days are ahead, my friends.
