Generously sized for both children and adults, this lightweight dohar is perfect as a summer coverlet, in place of a traditional top sheet, or layered at the foot of the bed. Soft, breathable, and beautifully drapey, it's equally at home on the sofa for an afternoon nap or cozy evening.

Made from three layers of airy mulmul cotton muslin—once reserved for Indian royalty—dohars are traditional Indian summer blankets that become softer with every wash. The word dohar comes from the Hindi doharana, meaning "to repeat," a fitting nod to both its layered construction and the rhythmic artistry behind its creation.

Each dohar is printed entirely by hand using centuries-old block printing techniques. Artisans carve intricate patterns into wooden blocks, dip them into natural, azo-free dyes, and press them onto the fabric in a slow, deliberate process repeated anywhere from 500 to 3,000 times for a single blanket. Produced in small batches, no two are exactly alike. Subtle variations in color and pattern are a hallmark of the handmade process and part of each dohar's unique character.
