These last few weeks have found me shuffling between the shop and managing our back-porch build at home (stay tuned for more about the renovation!). Meanwhile my mind is wandering to all things bright and breezy. You can find the bounty of these cogitations in our Summer Shop, launched just last week. As a supplement of sorts, today I’m sharing an assemblage of seasonal finds I was thrilled to curate for Houston Modern Luxury. Below you’ll find inspiring pieces from inside the CB shop and other favorite brands.
Cheeky Catchall - Make this playful John Derian tray home base for the sunglasses or keys you can never seem to find.
Raise a Glass - Houston-based tableware brand Rigby offers sets of glassware hand-blown in Portugal that feel super luxe and durable. The Tall Drinking Glass Set is versatile enough for serving iced tea, a cold beer, or a frozen cocktail on long summer days.
Fresh Shade - I’m obsessed with Domingue’s mineral paint in the shade Brique. It creates a distinctively serene vibe in a room, which I think we could all use right now! Available in 140 pigments, the completely natural paint allows walls to breathe and adds a depth of color mimicking plaster.
Sheet Substitute - It’s no surprise that our whole family curls up with CB Dohar blankets. They are a cinch to launder (just toss in washer/dryer), get better with every wash, and are especially beloved in the summer months when it’s too hot for dense duvets.
Seeing Stripes - My clients have been looking for upholstery updates to refresh their living spaces. I absolutely love this Jaipur Stripe Sofa that is in the shop. It feels modern and classic all at once.
Handmade Birds - These handmade concrete birds from Back Row Home are quirky and utterly charming—my favorite qualities for household put-about.
Summery Scallops - I’m eyeing Maison Maison’s scalloped raffia lamp shades launching this month for side table lighting on our new patio addition.
Rattan Carafe - Coffee on the porch just got an upgrade with this rattan carafe from FOUND.
Out of the Woods - I'm always on the hunt for interesting outdoor pots and can't resist anything faux bois. These textural Cache Pots fit the bill perfectly.
Breezy Summer Dress - It’s beyond time to thank our sweatpants for their service. For a fresh summer dress, I look to Houston-based Mirth — my current favorite being this puff-sleeved, scalloped edge frock that can go from poolside cover-up to chic caftan with the hook of a few buttons.
A Fresh Scent - Our Lassi Candles are poured into timeworn silver and brass cups gathered from metal markets around India. My favorite scent for summer is 1907, which boasts notes of bergamot, iris, and citrus (and, sidenote, is inspired by the scent of The Plaza Hotel!)
A Happy Vase - Elevate clipped foliage in an unexpected glass vase, dotted by hand to mimic the tiny buds of pomponette flowers.
